FINALLY 2009 is about to come to an end. As for most of you guys out there, today is the day where people starts to think about their respective new year resolution or whatever they want to call it. Today is also the day where people reflects about the ups and downs of 2009, and prepares for the upcoming years with full of confidence and hope. In the end, hope is one of the things that makes us rise from the fall, become stronger from illness and happier after sorrow. People hope for so many things, but the real question is do they really do what they had hoped for, like what they had hoped in January 2009?

For me personally & professionally,the beginning of 2010 marks the beginning of a journey into a relatively unknown territory, business. With the launching of my company SignDeco MGT Enterprise, which holds 2 brands; SignDeco Photography & Interior Design and Detik Indah Wedding Images in January 2010 insyaAllah, 2010 will be a tough year but hopefully exciting in the same time.

From the ashes of April 2009 where I finally threw-in-the-towel as a designer in a consultant firm to the emergence of my own studio at the back end of 2009, the year was one of the best years in my life, almost on the same par as 1999, if not surpassed it.

In this post I would like to pay tribute to the PIXELWORKS PHOTOGRAPHY & DESIGN team especially Mr Radzi Zin & Nik Hamidi for giving me the space and opportunity to learn and explore the world of wedding photography to a level where I am today. Also in this period, I am able to develop my skill and knowledge in photography in general without restriction and it has been a pleasure to be part of a group of dedicated, passionate and crazy (in good terms) people throughout our (roughly) 2 years working relationship. My only hope is that we can continue this great and close relationship to a new level in the future, insyaAllah.

My biggest delight goes to Mat Husaini of Husaini Photography for practically introducing me to this discipline in the middle of 2006. From theory as well as practical knowledge, he has been there since the beginning of all this. He also played a major part in influencing me to be a Canonian, hahaha, and since then I never looked back…

To all my ex- client, whether from Pixelworks or friends of friends, a big hands to you guys for believing in me to capture your happiest days. couldn’t asked for more than that. With your support, you guys are actually supporting the advancement of my career in photography, whether you realized it or not.

A big thank you to Dell’s husband, Raja Amirul @ setokin @ k i n g k o n g of Digital Syndicate for helping me in setting up my website from scratch to what it is now, hehe. I still owe you a big meal bro. Talking about websites and IT stuff, since I am no IT freak/geek for that matter, there are quite a few personnel directly involved in my project, they are Izham Saringat @ Am, Hazairi @ Jay and Radzi Zin @ raxeez. These people are sincere in their knowledge sharing and I am grateful to have known such people, although I think treating them to a drink or SHISHA is actually quite nice at worst, hahahaha….

On the business side, if I don’t mention Izham Shaari of Kedai Dobi Mesra, then I must be totally forgetful or plain dumb. His vast knowledge in business and ‘how it’s done’ mentality is what one should learn from. Also to  Uncle Omar’s (some call him Pak Omaq, hehe) sons, Zaini & Zaidi for their knowledge and logistical as well as moral support throughout the whole process, it has been a great few months, and definitely we are looking forward for a great future in front of us, insyaAllah.

And the warmest of them all, to both my parents and siblings, a big thank you for your undivided support & believing in me in what I do and what I want to achieve with this project. It has been a looooong journey till I reached this point, but the interesting/scary reality is, this is just the beginning…
